Flare-Facade
The Flare, created by Christopher Bauder and Christian Perstl, is a modular system that acts like the skin of a building. The Flare units are made up of computer controlled metal flake bodies which are by supplemented pneumatic cylinders. A great futuristic outer shell for any building. Because of the shape and size of each unit it can be placed on any designed building.
The Flare system can tilt upward, catching the light and sky or it can be tilted downward and it will appear black. They act as pixels forming one complete beautiful building covering. The Flare is computer controlled and can be changed to form any kind of surface animation. It also has sensors inside and outside to keep tabs on how the system is functioning. Talk about a smart building! This one you have to see to believe, check it out at Flare-Facade.
