How To Create A Modern Christmas Look
Yep, Christmas is coming and it’s that time in the calender to start thinking about what style of Christmas you are aiming for this year in your home.
There are so many looks you could go for ranging from traditional all the way through to minimalist but in this post we will be looking at how to put the ‘Modern Christmas’ style to work in your house. Its chic, its different, its fun, its bright and bold and best of all it’s creative!
– There are lots of crafty type tasks that you can get going on to compliment your main Christmas interior.
One of these projects is to spray paint berries and twigs and branches. It’s not at all difficult get yourself some gold, silver and red spray paint and simply coat the berry shrubs and twigs with the paint. Arrange them in an eye catching way in a substantial tall vase and you have an instant festive decorative piece.
– You don’t have to make everything yourself though!
Modern Christmas is about bold color and strong shapes and that is a universal theme that should run through the entire home. Starting at the front door why not set the scene with these fantastic Recycled Christmas Wreaths from Biome Life?
Not only do they look great, but buying one for £25 will help people less fortunate. The wreaths are all made by a small co-operative in Africa from waste tin and the cost of the wreath goes right back to the co-operative and into the community.
-Graphic outlines are big this year and there are loads of products out there on the market that will help you bring this important key look into your home.
First is this quirky Stag Cut-Out from paperchase, £10. The good thing about this is that you can give a nod to two major aspects of the modern Christmas, the bold color and the strong shapes and all for £10!
Then there is this wonderful Candle Tree, £39 from Rockett St George. It will look great placed in the hallway or even on the dinning table with bright colored candles in it. The bonus with this is that it is not so Christmasy that you won’t be able to use it at other times of year.
This room below also offers great inspiration for the modern Christmas. Its not fussy or twee but it still manages to be festive. Note the large snowflake outline on the wall- this is a great idea for a subtle Christmas scene. The stockings hanging from a tree branch is also a great touch and is easy to do yourself.
