Furin – The Japanese Windchime & The Thin Chair w/ Table

A collaboration project by architect Ito Toyoo and Takram design engineering
Approximately 300 furin hanging at approximate intervals detect the movements of people bringing a cooling sound effect. Along with the sound, the LED lights shine calming beams of light resembling fireflies.

The Thin Chair + Thin Table made from a single sheet of material, is an attempt to manipulate a piece of furniture with least amount of effort. The design was awarded the Design Report Award 2008, the highest award at the Milano Salone Satelite.
